Isaac is headed for Primary!

This is the second week that Isaac's nursury class has gone to visit Primary. He is always folding his arms and loves to participate in singing time. We hope he keeps this up. A favorite activity at home has been the marching parade through the house with horses, swords or instruments. Hyrum follows along ceremoniously and loves to mimic Isaac. The great thing is that Isaac is a high quality big brother and includes Hyrum and is a good example.

The Boys

Isaac & Hyrum have great fun playing swords, bow & arrow, etc with serving spoons and clothes hangers as weapons. I think expensive toys are a waste of money, because the imagination is much better fed & enjoyed with a stick, or rock, or common household item.

I am so glad to have time with them and play with them as often as I can. Today Fred & Jo Ellen had them in the morning and evening during our dress rehearsal & program.

Amy & I performed at our Ward Christmas Party tonight. We were the "pit orchestra" for a pageant of sorts. It was the story of the nativity from the perspective of an old man who was also returning to Bethlehem to be taxed. He encounters the same issues, (no room in the inn) and becomes acquainted with Mary, Joseph & the baby Jesus.

The neat thing about this historical fiction of Christmas, is that the focus of the story is on the redeemer and His very significant arrival. I enjoyed it because it had fresh perspective on the Christmas history and plan of redemption, but was not bogged down by thorough reference to shepherds, wisemen, angels, etc.

I don't have anything against the traditional, scriptural sequence, but felt uplifted by a deeper view into why sacrifice is the truest gift, and selfless giving brings the greatest spiritual progress & unity. Amy is beautiful, and her harp music is lovely too!
